As expected, this week’s ctcLink workshop on the self-service features in Campus Solutions was a big hit! The room was packed (don’t take my word for it; see below) and there were at least another 40-45 attending online.
The session gave people a chance to see what students will be able to do online, such as updating their own contact info, searching for classes, maintaining “My Planner”, enrolling in classes, using their ‘shopping cart’, viewing transfer credit and course history, requesting their transcript, applying for graduation and much more!
College and SBCTC employees can go to the BPA Workshops webpage, click on the Super Schedule, and, in the far right column, you’ll find the recording for the Aug 14 Self-Service session on the “CS” tab. Once the recording loads, you’ll see a timer at the bottom left in bright green. A good place to start to see what’s in store for students to track and manage their own academic career online is at 01:12:50. To see the online payment features for students, skip to 02:10:00. For Financial Aid online features for students, go to 02:30:48 in the recording.
Want to see the online features for advisors? Go to 04:02:20 in the recording.
Want to see what the Faculty self-service Center is all about? Go to 04:33:00 in the recording.
And, not to be overlooked, Tuesday and Wednesday, the budgeting folks got a chance to see the Hyperion software environment and associated planning and budgeting tools. To jump straight to the process of creating a new budget, go to the “BUD” tab at the bottom, left of the Super Schedule and go to 02:24:40 on the Aug 13 recorded session. The actual run-through in the software demo space starts at 02:59:40. If you want to skip to some of the cool features of “My Task List” including budget requests, decision packages, preparing and managing budgets, budget analysis, adding new positions, managing salary grades, etc., go straight to the August 14 recorded session.
Thanks again, all you SMEs! Campus Solutions and Human Capital Management SMEs are all done (with pillar BPA sessions, anyway), while Finance SMEs are the last SMEs standing with two more weeks of BPA sessions to go–next week is Project Costing and the final week is Grants.
