ctcLink kickoff events continue

Last week was a busy one for the ctcLink/Ciber project team! The core ctcLink team attended ‘boot camp’ led by Ciber’s John Gilligan, and the week ended with the first of two project kickoff meetings, open to all college teams, subject matter experts and other interested  staff.

Boot camp gave ctcLink technical and process/functional team members an in-depth review of PeopleSoft terminology, structure, navigation, and an overall understanding of how the student, financial and HR/payroll modules work together and integrate processes. This week, the team takes a deep dive into the technical integration and structure of the software solution.

About 50 people attended last week’s project kickoff meeting in-person at the SBCTC Bellevue office and nearly another 300 attended online. The team provided a project overview, discussed the work approach over the next 5 years, how project issues and risks will be managed, and the project’s organizational change management framework. If you are an interested CTC faculty or staff member, there is another kickoff meeting this Thursday at 1:30. Ask someone on your ctcLink college team for details.

About ctclinknews

ctcLink is a single, centralized system of online tools for student services and administrative functions for all 34 community and technical colleges in Washington. In the next several years, ctcLink will be implemented on every campus, providing online tools for everything from admissions to graduation. The first three ("FirstLink") colleges came online in August 2015. A wave of 8 more colleges (cleverly named "Wave 1") will switch over to the new ctcLink system in August 2016, followed by Wave 2 in 2017 and Wave 3 in 2018.
