Phyllis Harris joins ctcLink team

Welcome to Friday!

This week we also welcomed Phyllis Harris to the ctcLink project team. Phyllis is the Student and Academic Functional Analyst. She’ll be focused on the successful delivery of new business processes and software functionality for the development, management and maintenance of the course catalog/curriculum features of the new system, including the functionality and processes for FTE reporting at the instructional program level. She will work closely with subject matter experts at colleges and with the ctcLink project and vendor teams.

Phyllis spent the last 21+ years in various roles at Shoreline Community College’s Office of Instruction. Most recently she served as the Institutional Data Specialist, where she provided customer support to staff and faculty on SMS coding, course development, class schedule/coding issues, data express, and SQL reporting tools. She was also the Database Administrator for the online course and class schedule design systems, course changes crosswalk, and the common course database. And, to top it off, she was the Security Manager and an administrator for the SQL Reporting Services database. Management Information Systems (MIS 6/2 Match) Reporting and enrollment tracking were key elements of her job.

Something you MUST know about Phyllis… She is an archery champion! Who can say that? She was a champion in Utah for many years and was named the Women’s Bowhunter Freestyle NFAA (National Field Archery Association) National Archery Champion in 1984. She took that skill to Shoreline as the assistant coach of the SCC Varsity Archery Team.

And, one last thing: Phyllis exemplifies the notion that it’s never too late to finish your college degree. This past June, she graduated from SCC with her associate in arts transfer degree, 42 years after taking her first college course.

Congratulations Phyllis and welcome to the ctcLink team!
