Cindy started her career within our system in payroll and customer accounts at Green River Community College. But, for the past 12.5 years, she’s been in various roles at Clover Park Technical College, starting with Accounting Coordinator where she was in charge of cashiering, customer accounts and accounts receivable. In that role, she particularly enjoyed working with students in the many “realistic training enterprise” programs available at CPTC where students run service businesses/stores (clothing, cosmetology, culinary arts, automotive), dealing with real money and real customers.

Next, she took over the CPTC payroll office, where she has been for the last 6.5 years. Some of her favorite projects there included streamlining and implementing electronic processes (see how this is going to come in handy for ctcLink?). In Payroll, she got to work eliminating a lot of the paper-intensive processes (paper check stubs, timesheets, reports, etc.) and tapping into some of the current administrative system’s capabilities that weren’t being used at the time. Most recently, CPTC implemented mandatory direct deposit to reduce the cost of paper checks.

Overhauling and redesigning must be a passion of Cindy’s because it doesn’t stop at work. She recently purchased a foreclosure that was completely gutted and she is in the process of redesigning the home from top to bottom.

About ctclinknews

ctcLink is a single, centralized system of online tools for student services and administrative functions for all 34 community and technical colleges in Washington. In the next several years, ctcLink will be implemented on every campus, providing online tools for everything from admissions to graduation. The first three ("FirstLink") colleges came online in August 2015. A wave of 8 more colleges (cleverly named "Wave 1") will switch over to the new ctcLink system in August 2016, followed by Wave 2 in 2017 and Wave 3 in 2018.
